Dr. Mayowa Fetuga is a dedicated family physician with extensive international training and experience, bringing a global perspective and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. His medical journey spans three continents, allowing him to develop a broad understanding of diverse healthcare systems while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 2010 before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree from Windsor University School of Medicine in 2014. Following medical school, Dr. Fetuga completed his internship and practised medicine in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom, where he completed his specialist training in Family Medicine/General Practice. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and is also certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP). Dr. Fetuga holds active medical licences in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria.
Dr. Fetuga provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, with a focus on disease prevention, health promotion, and evidence-based management of both acute and chronic medical conditions. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, geriatrics, pediatrics, men’s health, women’s health, dermatology, mental health, and medical education. He is committed to fostering long-term relationships with his patients, emphasizing continuity of care, shared decision-making, and treating each individual with dignity, respect, and compassion.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Fetuga is actively involved in expanding access to high-quality healthcare through the development of community-based medical clinics. His vision is to create welcoming environments where patients can receive timely, comprehensive, and compassionate care close to home.
Dr. Fetuga and his family are proud citizens of four countries—Nigeria, the United States, Canada, and Malawi. Their multicultural background has enriched his appreciation for diversity and enables him to connect with patients from many different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Fetuga enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, travelling, running, and following sports, particularly boxing. Fluent in both English and Yoruba, he is passionate about building lasting relationships with his patients and making a meaningful difference in the communities he serves.
About Dr. Lyness Fetuga
Dr. Lyness Fetuga completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Carleton University in Ottawa before earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Windsor University School of Medicine. She further developed her clinical experience during medical rotations in Houston, Texas, where she trained across a variety of specialties in diverse, fast-paced healthcare settings. She is currently completing her Family Medicine/General Practice training in the United Kingdom, where she continues to expand her expertise in primary care, urgent care, and patient-centred medicine.
Dr. Fetuga serves as Clinical Director at Fetuga Medical Clinic. She looks forward to returning to Canada to join her husband, Dr. Mayowa Fetuga, in providing compassionate, accessible healthcare to individuals and families in Steinbach and the surrounding communities. Her clinical interests include women’s health, paediatrics, geriatrics, preventive medicine, and urgent care.
Known for her friendly and approachable manner, Dr. Fetuga believes that great healthcare starts with listening. She is committed to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, respected, and involved in their care. Whether managing everyday health concerns or supporting patients through more complex medical needs, she strives to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual.
